reading 9 miles. four miles in allentown. lehigh valley steering clear from the fog. the farther north and west you go, the better the conditions become. satellite and radar, let's say by 9:00 a.m. the fog begins to lift. from that point on it's a combination of sun and clouds, it's warm and a little more humid this afternoon than what we've experienced over the last few days. good morning to you. the forecast for today, calls for, again, that combination of sun and clouds, high temperatures close to 85, 86 degrees with the noble increase in humidity. we've got a cold front that is pushing through the area. heavy downpours and thunderstorms are pushing through motown, detroit. and ohio and tennessee valleys. that will swing through dry, it will drop off the temperatures. how low do we go? that's the big question, i'll have that in the seven-day forecast when i see you again in just a few minutes.

off kelly drive at eakens oval. >> we're getting a better picture how many people will make it on to the parkway for next sunday's mass. mayor nutter expects 1 million to attend, the secret service says less than 300,000 will fit on the parkway. that would put 80,000 people in the ticketed area in the red. another 150 to 200,000 in the open access area in purple. the new numbers are not fazing some people. >> i don't have tickets, but i might walk up and see and feel and watch it on one of the large tvs. of i'm excited for the city and to have the pope here is an honor. >> secret service is warning people that it could take two three hours to get inside the checkpoints. officials will begin towing cars that are parked on streets this weekend.

philadelphia's olney section. a sedan hit a pole and then an appliance store at north 5th and the boulevard. the other vehicle involved, an suv hit a pole and landed on its roof. two people hospitalized in stable condition. ll&i are checking the stability of store. philadelphia police have busted what they call a sophisticated car theft ring. thieves were shipping stolen vehicles from philadelphia to liberia in a operation for at least pa year. chad perdelli has the exclusive story. >> reporter: only "action news" was there as the philadelphia police major crimes auto squad took down an international car theft ring. police had the three sus under sure surveillance and watched them load three stolen vehicles into a shipping

container bound for west africa. >> these vehicles are more valuable in other countries. >> reporter: the ring was under investigation for several months after a 2015 range rover similar to this was stolen from a rental company in west palm beach, florida. what the alleged car thieves didn't know the suv had a tracking device. gay gay the lie -- lib the ring leader. they stole vehicles valued at $500,000. they would steal them from rental companies by using bogus identification. in one crime, sources say 2015, 911 porsche was stolen from a home. police suspect a key may have been made for the porsche by an employee of a local dealership. the vehicles would be placed in

dover, 63 and sea isle city, 68 degrees. here's a look at the visibility numbers, you can see clear see across south jersey that's where we're having most of the problems, no visibility in millville, dover, wildwood, atlantic city or up to the north, ocean county beach haven. so this entire area is socked in pretty good. north and west. pennsylvania turnpike, nine miles, 4 miles in allentown. 5 in the poconos. the immediate philadelphia area that's dealing with visibility issues this morning mg we'll see fog up until 9:30. after that we'll see sun and clouds. the feature we're watching is this right here, that's a cold front. you'll see showers associated with it, even a couple of thunderstorms, most of the energy will die out before it makes it into the delaware valley. the big story is the cooler air

president raul castro during his stop in cuba dh has a tiny catholic population. meanwhile, preparation continue around the clock for the visit to philadelphia next week. a stretch of the parkway is closed this morning to allow work on the alter for the papal mass next sunday. the inner drive closed on thursday, the outer drives are closed as well from 20th to kelly drive. you have to go through neighborhood streets if you need to access kelly drive. drivers coming from mlk drive will be diverted off eakens oval at the 24th street ramble to the vine street expressway. meanwhile, as many of millions are expected to crowd the parkway to see the holy father, "action news" has learned that only a small fraction may make it to the parkway. exemption for people who have special city lack -- placards. new jersey governor chris christie is declaring a state of emergency he signed an executive order that authorizes the use of the national guard. it allows the state to change traffic flow on roads that may be relevant to camden since the ben franklin bridge will be shut down to cars starting at 10:00 p.m. next friday. go to for all the details on the security and traffic restrictions. it's all is in a special section for news on the pope's visit. a teenager has been arrested in a double shooting it happened at 27th and snyder streets in the city's point breeze section. responding officers rushed the victim to penn presbyterian hospital a 19-year-old woman and 16-year-old brother were shot. they are in stable condition.

a 15-year-old was arrested a short time later. police have recovered the gun allegedly used in that shooting. meanwhile, police are looking for a gunman in a deadly shooting in north philadelphia. it happened at 9:15 on the 2600 block of north 7th street. a 34-year-old man was hit several times, the victim was not identified. from our delaware newsroom. new castle county police mounted patrol has been deployed in rodney square it is in response to a murder on murder. thomas cunningham stepped in to protect a mother and baby from a new niefer wielding attack -- knife wielding attacker. his sister spoke to "action news." >> he is was a helper, i don't want anybody judging because of how my brother dressed. the clothes don't make the person, it's the heart.

70 degrees, 7:49. a new study said antidepressant paxil is unsafe for teenagers. it contradict a past study that said the drug was safe for teens. i meant showed an increased risk of suicide and it doesn't work well releasing depression in teens. the old study was published 14 years ago and sponsored by the drug company. olive oil could lower the risk of breast cancer. the study compared three groups of women with different diets. one group used extra virgin olive oil. they had 68% lower risk of breast cancer. a larger and longer study is needed to confirm the findings. a new study finds diet soda
